Privacy Policy - CalendarGPT

CalendarGPT is a web-based conversational assistant that allows users to manage their Google Calendar using natural language chat.

This privacy policy applies to the application CalendarGPT, hosted at https://calendargpt.org/.

AI/ML Disclosure: CalendarGPT uses AI models solely to interpret the user's natural language input in order to fulfill their explicit calendar-related requests. For example, when a user writes "schedule a meeting with Sarah tomorrow at 10am", the AI model helps convert that sentence into a structured event for the Google Calendar API.

The AI engine only processes the user's typed prompts; it does not access or store any calendar data beyond what is required to execute the request. CalendarGPT does not use any Google user data to train or improve its AI models. No calendar information, contact details, or event metadata are ever used as training data, nor are they logged outside the session.

We comply fully with Google’s Limited Use Policy, ensuring that any user data accessed via Google APIs is used only to provide the features described and only in real-time.

🔐 Data Privacy & Security

Authentication: CalendarGPT uses Google OAuth 2.0 to authenticate users. Access to your Google Calendar is granted only with your explicit consent.
Accessed Data: The application accesses only your calendar data, specifically:
- Event titles, descriptions, start and end times, attendees.
Data Storage: CalendarGPT does not store any Google Calendar data on its servers. All access is ephemeral and scoped to the active user session only.
JWT Session: After authentication, a JWT token is stored locally in your browser to maintain your session securely.
Data Sharing: No user data is ever sold, shared, or disclosed to third parties.

📅 Calendar Permissions

The app requests the following Google Calendar scope:

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar – to view, create, update, and delete calendar events on your behalf.

This access allows the assistant to understand your calendar context and respond to requests such as “create a meeting tomorrow at 3pm” or “delete my 9am call.”

📄 Use of Information

Your calendar information is accessed only in response to your chat commands.
The data is used solely to fulfill your request (e.g., viewing events, creating a new meeting, editing event details, or inviting contacts).
No calendar data is stored persistently or used for analytics or advertising.

🧼 Data Retention

No user data is stored beyond the session duration.
All tokens expire automatically, and we do not retain any backups or logs of calendar contents.
